Abstract

The type of clothing is one of the important cultural symbols. Wearing hijab is a social act that reflects the thoughts and beliefs of religious women and has always been of interest to non-Muslims, especially foreign tourists; Whereas women tourists, upon arrival in Iran, face a new phenomenon called "hijab", which they are required to observe; It is important to research in this field and examine their views. For this purpose, the researcher, due to the tourist attractions of Isfahan, including the Imam Mosque and the "Nasiriyah Theological School" and also the propaganda activity of this school, which has caused hundreds of tourists to visit this place daily, to study the phenomenon of hijab from the perspective of foreign tourists. In this sign. This study is based on the "phenomenological" approach and using the method of "content analysis" and has used the techniques of observation, interview and review of documents. The results show that hijab from the perspective of foreign tourists, including perceptions such as: "gender discrimination", "deprivation of authority", "barrier to expression", "patriarchal", "ideological", "difficult", "traditional", "distinct from chastity" And "an obstacle to freedom." The sum of the views shows that the semantic burden of hijab in their lived experience is "negative limitation".
