Abstract
This article search to explore the concept of development and progress from an Islamic perspective. First, the word meaning of progress and development is examined. Then its idiomatic meaning is explored. In the second part, the concept of development and progress is expressed with an Islamic attitude. The present study seeks to answer the question of what is the purpose of development and progress from the perspective of Islam? In other words, what criteria and indicators does Islam state for development and progress? By referring to religious sources, 120 codes were obtained in the form of a network of themes. According to this picture, the pattern of indicators of development and progress in Islam is a comprehensive theme that includes 5 organizing themes (spiritual progress, improving the quality of life, sustainable development, cultural values and endogenous growth). The method of this research is to refer to documents and sources and use the Thematic analysis technique to analyze the data.
