Abstract
In the history of social thought of Muslim commentators, the critical approach has been one of its prominent features and basically the foundation of social interpretation is formed by a pathological view of the current situation of Islamic society and a critical question about this situation as well as external and internal factors influencing it. This study rereads the critical approach of Al-Mizan's interpretation of Western society and culture. And it answers the question of how Al-Mizan takes a critical approach to the West. The author of This precious interpretation in explaining the problem of backwardness of the Islamic world, considering the role of Western culture in this process, has devoted a large part of its discussions to the critical analysis of Western culture and its principles, goals and consequences. In his view, Western culture is based on materialist epistemological foundations and if it is the basis of human social behavior, it destroys the foundation of society and imposes many damages on human societies Such as spreading social corruption, class distance, organized crimes.
