A Study of Relationship between Cultural Intelligence and Social Satisfaction

Abstract

Owing to importance of two variables of cultural intelligence and social satisfaction, this study is made with an aim of examining the relationship between cultural intelligence and social satisfaction among the intermediate-level teachers in the city of Ardebil. This research is applied and the statistical population contains all teachers of Ardebil city high schools, teaching in the years of 1395-96(2016-2017). 130 samples were randomly selected. Tools of collecting data were two questionnaires of cultural intelligence and social satisfaction. Validity of questionnaires has been confirmed by professors and acceptable reliability was satisfactory.  In order to analyze data and test of research hypothesis, in addition to descriptive statistics indices, correlational test was applied. The mean score of cultural intelligence stood at about 49/3, among components of which motivational intelligence had mean score at most and knowledge intelligence had the least mean score. The mean score of social satisfaction stood at high 05/4, among components of which familial and educational relationships had higher mean than social relationships. A meaningful and positive correlation was observed between cultural intelligence and social satisfaction. According to the results obtained from the existing relationship between cultural intelligence and social satisfaction of teachers, it seems necessary to pay attention to importance of cultural intelligence with social satisfaction of teachers.
